These terms govern registration, bidding, and purchases in every Global Card Auctions sale. By registering to bid, you agree to them. Last updated: June 2026.
You must be at least 18 years old and provide accurate, complete registration information to bid. New bidders receive a default bid limit of $5,000. Higher limits are available on request — see our Bid Limit Increase page. Global Card Auctions (“GCA”) may decline, suspend, or revoke any registration at its discretion, including for past non-payment or suspected fraudulent activity.
Every bid is a binding offer to purchase. Bids cannot be retracted once placed. Maximum (ceiling) bids are confidential and are executed competitively — only the amount needed to maintain the lead is applied. Shill bidding is strictly prohibited: consignors may not bid on their own lots, directly or through any third party, and GCA employees never bid against customers. GCA may reject or cancel any bid it believes violates these terms.
Auctions close using an extended-bidding format. Any qualifying bid placed in the final minutes of a lot extends that lot’s closing time, and bidding continues until the lot receives no further bids within the extension window. Exact closing rules and bid increments are displayed on the bidding platform for each auction.
A buyer’s premium of 20% of the hammer price is added to every winning bid. The hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, plus shipping and any applicable sales tax, equals the total purchase price.
Invoices are issued when the auction closes, and payment is due within seven (7) days of the invoice date. Accepted payment methods are listed on each invoice. Lots are not shipped until payment has cleared in full.
If payment is not received when due, GCA may cancel the sale, resell the lot, suspend or permanently revoke the bidder’s registration, and recover from the bidder any deficiency between the original sale price and any resale price, plus reasonable costs of collection. Winning and failing to pay is treated as a serious violation of these terms.
GCA collects state and local sales tax where required by law, based on the shipping destination. Applicable tax is shown on your invoice. Buyers outside the United States are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, and brokerage fees in their own jurisdiction.
Buyers pay the cost of shipping and insurance, shown on the invoice. Lots ship after payment clears, fully insured, with tracking and signature confirmation where appropriate. Title and risk of loss pass to the buyer upon full payment and delivery to the address provided at registration.
Every lot GCA sells is guaranteed genuine. High-value cards are sold graded and authenticated by recognized third-party grading companies — we do not sell premium cards raw. If a recognized grading or authentication authority determines that an item we sold is counterfeit or materially altered, notify us promptly, return the item in the same condition in which it was delivered, and GCA will refund the full purchase price. This guarantee applies to authenticity; it does not cover disagreement with a grade assigned by a grading company.
All sales are final. Returns are accepted only under the Authenticity Guarantee above or where required by law. Lot descriptions and condition notes are prepared carefully and in good faith; statements of opinion (such as estimated value, rarity commentary, or attribution of unmarked items) are not warranties.
GCA screens consignments and cooperates fully with law enforcement and hobby databases regarding allegedly stolen or disputed property. If a credible title dispute arises before a lot closes, GCA may withdraw the lot. If one arises after sale, GCA will work with all parties toward a lawful resolution and may rescind the sale and refund the buyer.
Consignor payouts, the consignor rewards tiers, cash advances, outright purchases, and grading-fee deductions are governed by the consignment agreement each consignor receives before their items are listed. See our Consign page for current terms.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GCA’s total liability for any claim arising out of an auction is limited to the purchase price actually paid for the lot in question. GCA is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for technical failures of the bidding platform beyond its control (bids not received, internet outages, etc.).
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [STATE], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in [COUNTY, STATE], and the parties consent to that venue.
GCA may update these terms from time to time. The version posted at the time an auction opens governs that auction. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
