We are a team of passionate collectors who enjoy obscure cards from Running to CDVs
Global Card Auctions started with a simple frustration: the cards we loved most were the ones the big auction houses ignored. Vintage nonsports, cricket, CDVs, foreign issues — overlooked categories, often handled by people who had never built a collection of their own. So three lifelong collectors decided to build the house we wished existed: one run by collectors, for collectors, where every card gets the research, respect, and spotlight it deserves.
Plenty of auction houses are run by businesspeople who have never built a collection of their own. We’re the opposite — every founder here is a lifelong collector first. Here are a few favorites from our personal collections, and why each one made the cut.
Lorem Ispum
This set features a ton of Cricketers and Golfers. This is my nicest copy and a Rookie Card of the legendary Victor Trumper
Teddy Roosevelt has 3 cards that were published before he took over as President. This is the rarest which is from the Spanish American War
I’m a huge Metal Fan. This is the earliest full band pic of Metallica. It’s SUPER tough to find with a back as Brazil 80s music cards were stickers.
This postcard is an interesting crossover as Dwight D. Eisenhower is shown on his high school baseball team.
This card is signed by Ozzy Osbourne and is one of the earlier Black Sabbath cards. In the 72 set, it has the highly coveted Bisvalida back.
There are less than 20 known Mathew Brady Proofs. Brady (and his team) would send these to subjects before printing for approval
One of my favorite Duke sets is the Great Americans. While I have an SGC 7 in my collection, I elected to showcase the Mark Twain
The Lone Jack Inventors are nearly an impossible set to complete. While there are 25 subjects, only a handful sell each year. I built the set in 3 years.
I almost put my Ramly Walter Johnson in this spot… The Oh was my first Japanese baseball card in my collection.
The T226 Red Suns were only distributed in Louisiana. The 4 black boxers in the set have a handful of copies known.
Negro League and Latin American baseball — the history the mainstream hobby overlooked.
Caribbean winter-league history in one card.
Tobacco-era rarity from the island’s golden age.
The crown jewel of Latin American collecting.
A star the record books left out.
Where Latin baseball cards really begin.

Foreign nonsports — British, European, and beyond. I’ll cross an ocean for the right card.
Picked this up opportunistically at a card show. Only two cello packs with Batman #1 on top have ever been graded, and this is by far the nicer copy. Certainly one of the most iconic non-sports cards out there.
Took a big risk and bought this raw at an auction, then had to sweat out the grade at the National. Only a handful of these have been graded — the Broadleaf 460 back is considered the third-rarest back in the T206 set.
I spotted this card at the National two years ago, and it took nine months to get a deal done. I PC Shohei Ohtani, and I’m happy to have this as the centerpiece of an extensive Ohtani rookie collection.
Not all CDVs are created equal, and this is one of the most beautiful, clear images you will find on one. It’s also, in my opinion, the nicest image of the legendary father-and-son golfing duo.
I have a lot of foreign issues in my collection, and this one is tough to source. The set is quite extensive, and I’ve never seen another. Love the image of Lincoln against the brown chocolate background — the only graded copy on the pop report.
